A few months ago I lost my editor to another publisher. That occurs all the time in this business. It shouldn’t matter so much, but it’s hard to lose favorite editors . I have yet at this time to have a new editor assigned to me. Along with that, you may have heard that Harlequin and all of its lines has been acquired by another company. It remains to be seen where this will lead.
All is not gloom. Last June, my RWA statewide chapter bestowed the Wisconsin Romance Writers of America’s Lifetime Achievement Award on me. I felt when I stepped forward to accept this rarely presented award that I was receiving the Oscar. It sits in a place of honor in our house where I can gaze on it and remember, whenever I’m down, that I’m very lucky.
